Competition Prizemoney Allocations – July Trial 

The allocation of competition prizemoney has been a subject of discussion at various times throughout the past membership year.  We have worked with Links Ladies in recent times to introduce some changes.  In July, on a trial basis, we will be adjusting prizemoney allocations in Men’s and Medley competitions. Feedback will be gathered and discussed at the next MAC Meeting on Tuesday 1st August.  


Men’s Saturday competitions will also offer at least 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prize allocations in each Grade.

Additionally, in all Men’s and Medley competitions Ball Rundown prizemoney will increase from $5 to $12, or ‘money back’ ($15 for Monthly Medal).

For transparency the prize allocation breakdown will look like this: 


Men’s Monthly Medal

• Ball Rundown – 25% of distributable funds at $15 per player.
• 4 x Open NTP’s at $20 each.
• Graded prizes (A-Grade 0-12, B-Grade 13-19, C-Grade 20-36)
• Overall Gross Winner – 5% of remaining prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• 1^st Place – 54% of each Grades remaining prize pool after Ball Rundown, NTP’s & Best Gross ($150 max)
• 2^nd Place – 28% of each Grades remaining prize pool after Ball Rundown, NTP’s & Best Gross.
• 3^rd Place – 13% of each Grades remaining prize pool after Ball Rundown, NTP’s & Best Gross.
• If 1st place exceeds $150 in any grade surplus funds will be allocated to 4th place.
• Monthly Medal awarded to lowest overall Nett score. 

Men’s Saturday competitions 

• Ball rundown – 25% of distributable funds at $12 per player.
• 4 x NTP’s at $20 each.
• Graded prizes (A-Grade 0-12, B-Grade 13-19, C-Grade 20-36)
• 1^st Place (per grade) – 45% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s ($150 max).
• 2^nd Place (per grade) – 30% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• 3^rd Place (per grade) – 15% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• 4th Place (per grade) – 10% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• If 1st place exceeds $150 in any grade surplus funds will be allocated to 5th place.

Men’s Tuesday & Thursday competitions

• Ball rundown – 25% of distributable funds at $12 per player.
• 2 x NTP’s at $20 each.
• Overall prizes – Not graded (Number of places may vary slightly depending on the number of players)
• 1^st Place – 35% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s ($150 max).
• 2^nd Place – 25% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• 3^rd Place – 17.5% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• 4^th Place – 12.5% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• 5th Place – 10% of prize pool after Ball Rundown & NTP’s.
• If 1st place exceeds $150 surplus funds will be allocated to 6th place.

Open Medley competitions

• Ball rundown – 25% of distributable funds at $12 per player.
• Overall prizes – Not graded.
• 1^st Place – 40% of prize pool after ball-rundown ($150 max).
• 2^nd Place – 30% of prize pool after ball-rundown.
• 3^rd Place – 20% of prize pool after ball-rundown 
• 4th Place – 10% of prize pool after ball-rundown.
• If 1st place exceeds $150 surplus funds will be allocated to 5th place.
• Small fields of less than 30 players will see 4th place removed.
